About Lake Garda

Lake Garda offers excursions, sports, leisure, children’s activities and much much more.

Excursions in Lake Garda

Local companies on the lake offer excursions to Venice (day and night), Verona, Verona Opera, Milan, Florence, Dolomites, Wine Tasting, and more.

Venice is the capital of Northern Italy’s Veneto Region. There are no roads, just canals, including the Grand Canal. Venice is built on more than 100 small islands in the lagoon of the Adriatic Sea. The Central Square is a real tourist spot (watch out for the pigeons!), Piazza San Marco and the Campanile bell tower which offers great views of the city’s red roofs.

A Roman Amphitheatre in Verona is home to the Verona Opera, built in the first century it is one of the best preserved ancient structures of its kind. Each summer the venue attracts hundreds of thousands of people.

Milan is in Italy’s northern Lombardy region, full of fashion and design, you may like to organise a day trip here or perhaps stay here at the beginning or end of your Lake Garda stay. The convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie houses Leonardo da Vinci’s mural ‘The Last Supper’, a late 15th century mural painting.

Florence is a little further from Lake Garda but may be somewhere that you visit as part of your trip perhaps to enjoy a 2 centre break rather than a day trip. Florence is the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, and home to many masterpieces of art and architecture.

The Dolomites are a mountain range located in North Eastern Italy. In the summer you can visit the Dolomites and enjoy the stunning scenery and enjoy hiking or biking. If you are on a day trip you can take a cable car to the top and take in the beautiful views. If you are marrying in the winter time then you could take a trip to the Dolomites and enjoy some great skiing here.

Wine Tasting is very popular in Italy and around Lake Garda. There are some great vineyards for wine tasting and winery tours.
